New Program Officers Join the Miller Foundation Staff
Stephan has a 15-year history cultivating strategic partnerships between nonprofits and foundations. Recently Stephan has lead the MRG Foundation’s Capacity Building Initiative: a three-year pilot project in partnership with the Meyer Memorial Trust, providing multi-year financial support to ten grassroots social justice organizations in Oregon. Prior to MRG, Stephan managed the PCC Sylvania Diversity Grant Fund and events, served as organizer and policy advocate for the Urban League of Portland, and as a case manager for Cascade AIDS Project. Stephan’s depth of experience as a facilitator, writer, and capacity-builder is a good fit for the Miller Foundation. We are excited to have him join us in early August.
After twenty years working with Oregon arts and education nonprofits, Jennifer comes to the Foundation having served as the first Executive Director of Friends of the Multnomah County Library. Jennifer also spent nearly 12 years as Director of Programs working in communities throughout the state for Oregon Humanities, served as Board President of Write Around Portland, and worked in communications for the Food Alliance and Ecotrust. With roots in rural Oregon, Jennifer brings skills as a facilitator, writer, and evaluator to our program team. We are delighted to have her join our staff at the end of August.
