Resources for Arts Organizations - April 30, 2020

PLEASE NOTE: THIS POST IS DATED APRIL 2020. WE HAVE LAUNCHED NEW FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES AS OF NOVEMBER 2020. PLEASE VISIT OUR HOMEPAGE FOR CURRENT INFORMATION.

To our Oregonians in the Arts: Your work is getting us through this. All of us are reaching for the poems and music, the shows and performances that help us cope, find comfort, and embrace hope. Artists are helping us understand this new world. To ensure that arts and culture continue to thrive in our state, a collaborative group of funders is ramping up an ambitious effort to help organizations and artists who have been heavily impacted. To date, $1.3 million in pooled funds has been committed to the Oregon Arts and Culture Recovery Program. Applications are due by June 15, 2020.

Established in partnership with state and local arts funders and administered by the Oregon Community Foundation (OCF), the program will support nonprofit arts and culture organizations throughout Oregon with grants for emergency operating support and recovery activities. Nonprofit organizations can submit a single application that will reach numerous participating foundations, public agencies and individuals. Apply here. Current partners joining the effort (by pooling funds or directly responding to requests) include the following: Oregon Community Foundation, The Collins Foundation, James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation, Regional Arts & Culture Council, and Schnitzer CARE Foundation/Jordan Schnitzer, Oregon Cultural Trust, Oregon Arts Commission, The Reser Family Foundation, and the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust. We have joined this pooled funding effort to help create new grant opportunities. If you have questions about emergency funding, please be in touch with our staff. We expect to open our responsive grant application process again in December 2020. More details here.
