ARTS EDUCATION

The Miller Foundation believes that every child should have access to a well-rounded education that includes the arts.

Organizations with annual operating expenses over $500,000 should submit a letter of inquiry.

Organizations with minimum annual cash expenses between $25,000 (cash expenses, excluding in-kind expenses) and $500,000 should submit a Fast Track Arts application.

Arts Education organizations applying for Fast Track grants must:

  1. Have a mission focused specifically on arts or arts education OR

  2. Serve a majority audience of members of disproportionately impacted communities AND allocate a minimum of 25% of their annual expenses to arts-related activities

You have a greater chance of receiving Miller funding for your arts education programming if your organization meets any of these criteria:

  • You provide non-school based sequential arts education specifically engaging youth who face economic, geographic, or other barriers to participation.

  • You work in partnership with public schools to provide arts education where such programming would otherwise be unavailable.

  • You connect young people with professional teaching artists.

  • You provide culturally specific arts education.

We do not fund individual school/school district offerings for arts education programming. We also do not fund arts exposure/enrichment activities at this time.

It may be helpful to review the full list of what we typically do not fund.
