In order to maximize our support for the nonprofit arts and education communities in Oregon during this challenging time, the Miller Foundation will focus our funding for the remainder of 2020 on supporting our current grantees and responding to requests through collaborative processes in partnership with other funders. We will post links to these opportunities here when they are finalized.
As a result, we will not be accepting responsive grant applications for the balance of 2020, traditionally our June and September deadlines, and instead will dedicate the funding from those cycles and more to collaborative grantmaking programs created in response to the coronavirus. We will notify current applicants to our March 2020 application cycle in mid-June as planned.
This approach is driven by our desire, shared by our funding partners, to provide a simple, equitable process and minimize work for nonprofit staff during this difficult time. The Miller Foundation’s priorities remain unchanged: to support a thriving arts ecology and to strengthen teacher effectiveness and students’ academic success.
