New Director for the Miller Board

The James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation Board of Directors welcomes a new member in July 2025, with Becky Tymchuk joining the Board. President of the Board Peter Koehler says, “The Foundation is thrilled that Becky Tymchuk has joined the Board, and confident about her skilled stewardship thanks to deep roots as an Oregonian, nonprofit leader, and education policy advisor in our state.”

William R. Swindells recently retired from the Miller Board of Directors after ten years of dedicated service to the Foundation.

Becky Tymchuk has a diverse background in politics, nonprofit management, and educational advocacy. She grew up on a farm in Williams, Oregon, and graduated from Grants Pass High and Willamette University with a bachelor’s degree in Speech and Social Science. She began her career in Oregon politics before transitioning into leadership roles with Junior Achievement, a statewide nonprofit focused on financial literacy. Eventually, Becky founded her own non-profit management and fundraising business, which she has operated for over 20 years.

Becky has been deeply involved in Oregon education policy and community service. She served two terms on the Beaverton School Board, including roles as Chair and Vice Chair, and led key local education funding campaigns. In 2022, she was named Oregon’s School Board Member of the Year by the Oregon School Board Association.

Currently, Becky serves as Chair of the Northwest Regional Education Service District Board and holds an advisory position with the Oregon State Board of Education. She is also a board member of the Oregon Bankers Association Education Foundation and the Oregon School Board Association Legislative Policy Committee.

Becky lives in Beaverton with her husband, Kerry, and enjoys gardening, community events, reading, traveling, and entertaining. Becky and Kerry have two grown children, a wonderful dog, and a spunky cat.
