All education organizations should use our letter of inquiry (LOI) process regardless of the size of your organizational budget or funding request.

The Miller Foundation's Guiding Principles will shape our education grantmaking in the longer term. In the near term, in recognition of the impacts of the pandemic and wildfires on Oregon communities, our current education funding will support efforts that address immediate and pressing needs for K-12 students, teachers and their families during this challenging time.
The Miller Foundation currently makes exceptions to fund several statewide institutions whose scope of activities extend beyond our current arts and education priorities, but which provide important support to these sectors. We appreciate that Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, the High Desert Museum, and the Oregon Coast Aquarium provide for students and teachers a ‘classroom like no other’ through on-site experiences, online resources, and teacher professional development, all of which connect to core academic subjects in our state’s schools. Oregon Public Broadcasting provides critical coverage of the arts and education in Oregon, keeping both those sectors and the general public informed and engaged.
PLEASE NOTE: The efforts our Foundation supports now, in these extraordinary circumstances, may vary from our prior and future education funding priorities.
